Operation Dino Jacket 2023
Field season is just around the corner and Elevation Science is excited to be heading back to Montana for another thrilling summer of hunting for dinosaurs in just a couple of months! Did you know that you can not only join us on an expedition, but also support our field operations? It’s time for this year’s Operation Dino Jacket!
Doesn’t it sound awesome to have your name on a jacket containing dinosaur bones? You can do just that with Operation Dino Jacket by sponsoring one of many field jackets that will make the journey from Montana to Philadelphia this year. We have several active research sites that keep us busy during the summer and produce literal TONS of fossils to jacket. These sponsorships help us immensely with our goals for the season and make our ongoing research projects possible. This year, with two new sites to explore and more to discover, these jackets will be crucial!
Why do dinosaurs need jackets? After being in the ground for 150 million years, our dinosaurs need a little extra TLC. The fossils can be extremely fragile and need something to protect them. Throughout the field season, our team will make these jackets out of burlap, bags of plaster (which you can sponsor!), and water. Once the jackets dry, they become hard coverings for the bones within and will protect the fossils on their long journey to the Academy of Natural Sciences.
You can sponsor a field jacket for yourself, a family member, a friend, a company; the possibilities are endless!
The 2023 Operation Field Jacket launches on April 27th. Sponsor a bag of plaster, a field jacket, or even a quarry for a week! Each sponsorship helps us take that extra step to achieving our goals for the field season. We are so incredibly grateful for your support and can’t wait to return to Montana for another successful season!
