A Day Trip to the Jurassic
Dear friends,
Have you ever thought about what it would be like to be a paleontologist, even if just for a day? Elevation Science can make that happen!
We are thrilled to announce that we have expanded our Daily Expeditions program this upcoming summer to take you and your family on a day trip to the Jurassic Period. Daily Expeditions allow you to fit adventure into your schedule, coming out in the field with scientists at our real research sites to dig up dinosaurs for a day or even two!
My name is Skye Walker, field paleontologist and science communicator with Elevation Science, and I am so pleased to say that I will be your guide on this journey back in time. I am so excited to introduce you to the wonders the Morrison Formation has to offer - from the dynamic geology to a glimpse into the ancient ecosystems to the jaw-dropping, prehistoric giants that once roamed the Bighorn Basin. There’s a whole world that most people never get to see and, together, we’re going to explore it.
In just one day, you will get the full hands-on experience of working in the field. Not only will you have the opportunity to dig up dinosaurs and other prehistoric life, but you will be contributing to decades of groundbreaking research on these long-extinct creatures and their world. We have many productive excavation sites in progress, and there are tons more waiting to be discovered!
Elevation Science was founded on the mission of inspiring as many people as possible with transformative, hands-on experiences in science and exploration. The expansion of this program allows us to do just that, and we couldn’t be more excited!
